WG4 LifeLong Learning: Educating for Entrepreneurship
Composed of professionals and representatives of conservatoires, this working group aims to promote innovation in European higher music education by studying models of entrepreneurial approaches in music and ways in which such training can be re-enforced both within the conservatoire sector and in the profession.
The working group will:
- Provide a definition of entrepreneurship in music;
- Carry out an overview of partnerships between higher music education institutions and organisations in the music profession;
- From this overview, select six successful models for entrepreneurial approaches from across Europe;
- Interview and document the six models, whilst also studying the particular economic, legal and socio-cultural national contexts which may favour the development of such models;
- Analyze results and areas of training which could be re-enforced, whilst also conducting a Europe-wide survey of how entrepreneurship skills are taught in conservatoires;
- From these materials, elaborate an “Entrepreneurship Handbook”;
- Organise regional workshops for professionals and conservatoires, taking into account interview and survey results;
- Develop an interactive portal;
- Bring all the results together with a large-scale final conference with key European stakeholders from the profession and conservatoires.
