Trends in the Music Profession in Europe; Lifelong Learning & Employability

Goal of the seminar
Since 2004, the Profession Working Group of the ERASMUS Thematic Network for Music ‘Polifonia’ and the Lectorate 'Lifelong Learning in Music' have worked on changing trends in the music profession and the connection between training and the professional practice in all parts of Europe. A large amount of examples, case studies as well as musicians portraits and site visits and additional research have contributed to the creation of a varied picture of the nature of the contemporary and future music profession in Europe.
During this seminar, which is organised jointly by the Lectorate and the ‘Polifonia’ project, the conclusions drawn upon the research findings will be shared and discussed with the participants. The participants are expected to contribute actively in the discussions and the working groups during the seminar. Preparatory material will be provided on this webpage.
