About the Lectorate Lifelong Learning in Music
The Lectorate Lifelong Learning in Music is a joint research project of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen (Prince Claus Conservatoire) and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Design, Music and Dance in The Hague (Royal Conservatoire). It examines the concept of Lifelong Learning and its consequences for musicians. Future professional musicians have to be able to function in a flexible way in a rapidly changing professional practice. Conservatoires can anticipate by creating adaptive learning environments, which enable students to be responsive. In relation to this matter, conservatoires have to ensure adequate competence development of their teachers. Research, pilot projects and international exchange with partner institutions lead to an innovative supporting model for Lifelong learning in Music. Within the lectorate the research group and the advisory committee contribute to this model, together with partners from diverse areas of the professional field.
